Social Networking Links

Social Networking and Your Profile Page - YES!

Most corporate HR departments will spend some time on Google researching candidates, as a type of due diligence. They are looking for "red flags" that indicate a candidate could, if hired, harm the reputation of their company. This is time-consuming and occurs generally after a phone screen, but always prior to a job offer being made.

Our approach in these matters is to always be proactive. Our profile pages include up to four buttons that can directly link to social network or candidate websites:

By presenting these convenient buttons to the HR department or hiring manager, the profile page transforms a compulsory activity into a positive, professional experience with the job candidate.

How To Include Your Buttons

1. Which Sites To Use?

First, you'll need to decide which (if any) of these sites you want to include. Then open a browser window for each site with the "public" link. You'll be copy/pasting this link into your profile page editing form. Keep these browser windows open for handy reference.

2. Adding Links To Your Profile

Login to your account page (click here to login in a new browser window) and click "edit" on your personal profile page. At the bottom you will see a section with text boxes for links:

If you leave any of these blank, there will be no button that shows on your profile page for it. If you have already put a link on your profile and you change your mind and do not want it to show, simply delete the contents of the text box and hit the "save" button on your profile. It will immediately be removed.

3. Specific Information for Websites
